About

Music Academy Kohima

History

Music Academy Kohima (MAK) was established in 2014 by Khyochano TCK Ngully and Ajeen Longchari. At its inception, their vision was to provide music education to all music lovers in Nagaland with uncompromising quality. True to that beginning, MAK has been consistently offering not just quality education through specialized courses but has grown into a music institute that continues to initiate a participatory space for its students to interact with high-level artists and educationists from the world over. Today, MAK is home to a growing number of musicians with a diverse range of musical tastes and skills, but who share the passion for music as a common bond.

Mission

Our mission is to educate and train students to excel in music and develop their skills to the fullest potential. We offer quality training that is based on international curriculum while also developing methods that are best suited to our contexts. MAK is an institution for all music lovers who have a desire to pursue music professionally or as a hobby.

Through the carefully-designed lessons and training, we hope to inculcate in our students values that are essential to creativity: the self-discipline that is needed for excellence, the empathy required for music-making, and the openness and inquisitiveness that are bedrocks for the success of any pursuit.

Meet our faculty

The value of any educational institution is mainly dependent upon the quality of the faculty and the quality of the imparted knowledge. MAK is privileged to have a progressive team of teachers who are vibrant, experienced, committed and relentlessly passionate about all things music.  Get to know them!
